{"id":565,"date":"2022-09-13T11:08:17","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T09:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nujbranch.eu\/?p=565"},"modified":"2022-09-13T11:08:20","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T09:08:20","slug":"new-reach-pay-offer-after-strike-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nuj-netherlands.nl\/?p=565","title":{"rendered":"New Reach pay offer after strike action"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 1,000 NUJ members, who work for Reach Plc, publishers of the Mirror, Express and dozens of regional newspapers and websites across the UK and Ireland, are currently being a balloted on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nuj.org.uk\/resource\/nuj-postpones-planned-strike-action.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new pay offer.&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This follows the rejection of the company\u2019s 3% pay offer and the resulting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nuj.org.uk\/resource\/nuj-members-at-reach-plc-to-strike-over-pay-dispute.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one-day national strike<\/a>. Members walked out joining dozens of picket lines after 79 per cent voted in favour of strike action on 70% turn out of the union\u2019s 1,069 members. With inflation in double digits the offer was seen as inadequate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A further three-day strike has now been postponed pending the outcome of the ballot which closes on 23 September.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If rejected and further strikes take place then all NUJ freelance members are asked not to offer material or accept new work from Reach on the strike days.
